If you’re like me, the thought of being on an airplane for 24 hours does not sound appealing whatsoever. So, in order to make your flight much more enjoyable, there are a few things you’ll want to pack before you break your personal record for time spent in the same seat! Here are 5 things that were imperative for me to bring on those 24-hour flights:
1) Your own earphones!
Some flights do provide earphones for free, but others will sell anything to get money out of you. Earphones are always nice to have if you want to listen to music, watch a movie, or just block out the crying baby behind you. The earphones that flights provide usually aren’t the best either, so even if they are complimentary you may want to bring some anyway.
2) Neck Pillow!
Have you ever fallen asleep while on a flight and suddenly felt your head slowly but surely making its way down to your own shoulder? Well, if you hadn’t forgotten your neck pillow that would not have happened! The neck pillow will make your flight much more comfortable and you won’t be so salty towards the person who was lucky enough to get the window seat.
3) Nom Nom Nom… Snacks!
For a 24-hour flight, you will definitely have complimentary food. Although free food for any college student is a plus, it’s not always the best and they won’t necessarily give it to you when you’re ready for it. I liked bringing snacks with me on the plane to make up for the couple of hours they don’t feed you. Plus, eating is always a favorite past time for me.
4) Some entertainment!
Usually, the flight will have screens on the seats with movies, TV shows, games (that you usually have to buy) and music. Although it may seem like it would suffice, you may want to bring a book or your own music to listen to so your flight is more personally enjoyable.
5) Choose the right Outfit!
This is not only for girls, I am speaking to the guys too! What you wear on your 24-hour flight will determine whether you will be comfortable in your seat or you will want to rip off the clothes you chose to wear. Wear something light, it can get a bit stuffy in close quarters. I personally think jeans are uncomfortable, but if you think otherwise, go for it! I liked wearing yoga pants because they’re loose, not tight, and not hot either. For guys, I think basketball shorts are the way to go!
Hope this helps!
